Mimumi National Park is the fourth-largest National Park in Tanzania. I decided to visit it, because it is relatively close to Dar es Salaam, the biggest city of Tanzania. Although it not as famous as Serengeti, it is a great choice for people who do not have much time or money, yet still want to experience the wonderful feeling of observing magnificent wild animals in their natural environment. In the park, visitors can encounter four of the Big Five game animals: the lion, leopard, elephant, and African buffalo. Only the rhinoceros is missing! Moreover, there is no guarantee that the guides will be able to spot a leopard on the day of your visit, since the will of nature cannot be predicted. In addition, aristocratic giraffes, zebras, antelopes, wildebeests, baboons, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and various species of colourful birds can also be found in the park. Athough you can fly there, if you are in Dar Es Salaam the best way is to take the fast and comfortable train to Morogoro and from there you can book a car to transfer you to your accommodation in Mikumi.
